Open 24/7, the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital ER is equipped to handle any patient that comes through the door. However, access to a second set of eyes and ears can be beneficial in critical cases. This is why HCMH has entered into a partnership with Avel eCare--a telemedicine provider that supports hospitals around the country--to receive virtual Emergency services.

Humboldt EMS Takes Care to Next Level With Portable EEG Device

Humboldt EMS is one of just three EMS providers in the country who are using the Ceribell, and the only one in Iowa. Nationwide, about 400 hospitals have a Ceribell device, but none are in this area. Humboldt EMS and the hospital are part of a pilot study on the use of the Ceribell through the University of New Mexico.
